What Are Some Hair Loss Causes?

Hair loss can happen slowly or suddenly, and either way it can impact only your head, or just your body, and either way it is temporary or permanent, depending on the cause of your hair loss. Anybody can shed hair from their head, no matter what age you are, but it is more prevalent in men. Hair loss typically refers to excessive hair loss in your scalp. This can be very embarrassing and can also greatly affect your social life and self esteem.

There are many different types of hair loss, which include androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium. Androgenetic alopecia is commonly found in both men and women. It is the result of the overproduction of the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the scalp, which can lead to baldness in a very short period of time. Telogen effluvium is often caused by the sudden withdrawal of certain medications such as chemotherapy or after surgery. The symptoms of this hair loss are very similar to androgenetic alopecia, except that the symptoms tend to occur mostly in males and can be more severe. This type of hair loss is often permanent, although in rare cases the hair loss has been known to be recurring.

If you have experienced any of the hair loss mentioned above or have any of the symptoms it is important to talk to your health care provider about your concerns. They may help you to find the best treatments for your particular case, or they may help you find ways to reduce, or even eliminate the effects of the hair loss. In addition, they may also recommend treatments that may help to prevent further hair loss and encourage new growth as well as being able to recommend treatments such as Scalp Micropigmentation from places like His Hair Clinic that can help improve the appearance of the hair loss.
