IWC 150th Anniversary Portugieser Perpetual Calendar

In total, the Portugieser Special Edition “150 years”, add eight limited editions divided into five models: two for the Tourbillon Constant Force model , one for the Perpetual Tourbillon Calendar , another for the Perpetual Calendar , two for the Chronograph and, finally, two dedicated to the Manual Rope Eight Days . Portugieser Tourbillon Constant Force “150 Years”

The Portugieser Tourbillon Fuerza Constante is launched in two editions limited to 15 pieces each with a sales price of € 220,000. The first one, with the reference IW590202, presents a platinum case with white lacquered dial. The second one, responding to the reference IW590203, keeps the platinum as construction material for the box while replacing the white color of the sphere with blue.

IWC Portugieser Tourbillon Constant ForceIn both cases, the dimensions of the box are generously 46 mm in diameter by 13.5 mm in height, with a tightness of 3 bar (30 meters) and accompanied by a strap in black alligator leather Santoni. In the sphere, the left hemisphere is occupied by the tourbillon cage which, in addition, incorporates the needle of the second hand. The hour and minute hands occupy the central positions, while a subsidiary dial receives the indication of the lunar phases at 1 and, between 4 and 5, a needle reserve indicator is implemented.

The responsible for the movement of these indications is the caliber 94805 manual lift, 18,000 alternations per hour and 96 hours of power reserve. This new caliber of the IWC manufacture brings together for the first time a constant strength tourbillon with an indication of lunar phases that should only be corrected once every 577.5 years.

IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon IW504501This time it is a unique limited edition of only 50 copies. Red gold case with white lacquered dial and blued hands are the main features of this IW504501 reference, which, for the first time in IWC, combines a perpetual calendar with a tourbillon on the dial. The box presents dimensions similar to those of the Tourbillon Constant Force model with 45 mm diameter and 15.3 mm height.

Its oscillation frequency, certainly atypical, is 19,800 vibrations per hour (2.75 Hz) and the available power reserve reaches seven full days (168 hours). The strap repeats Santoni’s black alligator. The sale price of each of the 50 pieces is € 95,500.

IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar IW503405Again, a single limited edition (IW503405), although this time increases the number of units produced to 250. The Portugieser Perpetual Calendar repeats the red gold as the construction material of the box as well as the white lacquered dial of the Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon .

The dimensions of this model are slightly more contained and have values of 44.2 mm in diameter by 14.9 mm in height, maintaining the 3 bar of tightness as well as the strap in Santoni alligator leather.

Portugieser Chronograph Edition “150 Years”.

Two editions limited to 2,000 units each in a steel box and repeating the white and blue colors with a lacquered finish on the dial. However, this model is the first to incorporate a historic movement of the 69000 family into the historic chronograph of the Portugieser Collection.

As well as the housing complication, the dimensions of its box – 41 mm in diameter and 13.1 mm in height – adopt values that make the Portugieser Chronograph a more “usable” watch. Inside we find the automatic reference caliber reference 69355.

Its frequency oscillation is 28,800 vibrations per hour and its power reserve, much more discreet than the models seen so far, is 46 hours. Obviously, the price is adapted to the benefits to be set at € 7,000.

Portugieser Manual Rope Eight Days Edition “150 Years”.

IWC Portugieser 8 Day Manual Rope IW510211And we arrived at the last of the Portugieser models launched in this IWC Jubilee series. This time it is two limited editions. The first one in a red gold case with a white lacquered dial (IW510211) limited to 250 pieces with a sale price of € 16,500. The second, keeping the sphere blank and replacing red gold with steel, is presented under the reference IW510212 and its sale price is € 8,600.

IWC Portugieser 8 Days Manual RopeThe 43 mm diameter by 12.2 mm thick housing houses the manual winding movement with the reference 59215 which, with an oscillation frequency of 4 Hz, delivers a power reserve of eight days (192 hours).
