Holiday Destinations this Summer that offer the Perfect Blend of History and Summer Sunshine

This year, many of us can once again start to look forward to summer holidays abroad. Throughout the last couple of years, going abroad has been fraught with testing and possible quarantine, as well as the possibility of being poorly in another country – but as we all start to get used to going back to normal, countries are once again opening up and this is a year where many more people are feeling confident about going away once more.

If you are interested in exploring other countries and want to spend some time enjoying finding out about the culture and history of a country as well as enjoying the summer sunshine, here are a few locations that are not far to get to by plane that can offer both summer relaxation, and a culture trip…

Turkey – A country that is full of culture and history has plenty to see. Many sites in Turkey are UNESCO world heritage sites. Kas is a great place to stay if you want a relaxing holiday with easy access to ancient ruins. Kas villa rental means that you can control your holiday and go at your own pace. Patara is an ancient city which is fascinating to wander around, and soak in the atmosphere.

Italy – Italy is a country full of culture and history, as well as beautiful weather and great food! If you are going to Italy, you are spoiled for choice but if it’s a historic place you are looking for then Pompei is a must. The ancient city destroyed by the volcanic eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD is all there to see for yourself.

Spain – In Spain there is a lot to see, and many people flock here from the UK to enjoy the beautiful beaches and of course the weather. If you are looking for historic places, then head to Barcelona and visit the stunning architecture of La Sagrada Familia, one of Spain’s most beautiful and famous buildings designed by Antoni Gaudi. You can see many of Antoni Gaudi’s beautiful works of art all around the city, these buildings and monuments are incredibly beautiful and unique.
